Computers
The waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) regulation was introduced by the European Union in 2003. This was imposed to try and reduce the amount of WEEE going to landfill. All WEEE must now be disposed of through a licensed waste carrier and recycled.
At BKP we have our team of experts with experience and knowledge in WEEE. This is complemented by our own fully licensed transfer station where we can deal with all your WEEE requirements from safe containment to collection and recycling to certificated destruction (on request).
TV's and monitors
Our collection and disposal service is very straight forward. Firstly our driver will collect your redundant IT and electrical goods and supply you with a waste transfer note. Secondly the goods will then be taken to our transfer station where they will be stripped down and separated according to their composition (copper based, plastics, glass etc).
The tubes and screens are put through a system where the lead and metals are extracted and can be reused. Finally when this process is complete the glass is approximately 99.98% pure allowing it to go on and be reused again.
