When he joined, the company had only 5 staff involved solely in agricultural contracting and in the years that have followed, Nick has watched this figure grow to over 120 staff dedicated to providing an ever growing range of environmental solutions.
Nick’s role is to drive the development of the group whose prime purpose is to understand the requirements
and goals of our customers and build innovative solutions designed to serve their needs in the most
custom-tailored manner possible.
Nick’s motivation is creating a business where everyone associated, be they employee, client or supplier gain recognition and achievement for being involved in an exciting, growing enterprise. Denise BrownPosition: Commercial DirectorDenise Brown is the Commercial Director of BKP's ChemClear division. She joined BKP in 1994 specifically to set up ChemClear. “Within a couple of years it took hold,” she says, “and it has now become a very successful part of the business.”
But her history with the company goes back even further, having spent school holidays helping out
on office administration. Qualified in Business Studies, Denise previously spent time managing
Hampshire County Council contracts.
In her spare time, Denise is a keen horse rider and has been participating in three-day eventing for the last two years. Her most recent competition was the ‘Ride for Great Britain’ in France. John KellyPosition: Dry Waste DirectorJohn Kelly, Dry Waste Director joined BKP in 1994 having previously run his own successful carpentry business. He has spent the last seven years specialising in all aspects of dry waste and currently oversees a team of 20, comprising eight lorry drivers, ten transfer station operatives and two office personnel.
John’s team is currently expanding with the addition of two roll-on/roll-off trucks in
the last 12 months, which are mainly contracted by demolition companies and major recycling
projects. He is also overseeing the installation of a brand new dry waste transfer station,
a major BKP project that has been in development for the past five years. “I’m really looking
forward to it,” he says, “having seen it through from conception to realisation.”
Married with children, John is a skiing enthusiast and can be found on the piste at least three times a year. He now also plays golf regularly, “but not regularly enough!” Steve WardPosition: Liquid Services ManagerLiquid Services Manager, Steve Ward, lives in Romsey and has worked within the industry for the last 21 years in various roles from driver/operator, sales manager to his current position within the BKP Group. Before joining BKP 7 years ago, Steve worked for several of the local waste companies gaining experience in all aspects of waste management from planning, pricing, budgets as well as dealing with all aspects of waste disposal from cradle to grave. Steve cites ‘customer satisfaction’ as the key highlight in his job, his goal is to ensure the customer receives the best service BKP Group can offer. |
