Gully and Road Sweeper Waste Treatment and Recycling

Road sweeping residues and gully waste from drainage operations contain predominantly water and silt but also stones, sand, organics, and rubbish. By processing and classifying the fractions within the waste, we can determine what is suitable for recovery to be used as a secondary aggregate.

Here at BKP, we have a bespoke site treatment permit supported by specialist equipment to treat a variety of waste streams including road sweeper and gully wastes.

How does it work?

The gully or road sweeping wastes are first discharged into two dedicated reception pits. The liquids are then filtered to remove floating organic fractions and any oversized or dense material. The remaining sludges are dewatered within bespoke dewatering units with the liquids after clarification being suitable for reuse onsite or discharge to foul sewer. The heavy solids, including sand and stone, are recovered as reusable aggregate products.

BKP has a fleet of vehicles designed to transport bulk liquids and other hazardous materials to provide collection services alongside the treatment of your waste.
