Pharmaceutical Waste Recovery
BKP offers a safe and reliable clinical waste management service, with compliance at the forefront. Our R coded cost-effective service handles various pharmaceutical waste from over the counter or prescription only medicines, to redundant stock, including, but not limited to:
- Pharmaceutical manufactured products, including unused products, blister packs, and powders
- Healthcare products, including expired drugs, empty medicine bottles and other refuse contaminated with pharmaceutical chemicals
- Personal care manufactured products, including cosmetics, perfumes, creams, and lotions, generating waste that requires specialised disposal
- Drugs containing hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals
- Over-the-counter medications
Our sister company, Novum, has long-term contracts with our offtake partners that allow us to offer a consistent service, working closely with the EA, and maximising the recovery, recycling, and reuse of your materials. Dedicated secure logistics ensure the material is moved in a safe controlled manner through to partners in Europe with fully automated feed systems designed specifically to handle clinical and pharmaceutical waste.
How is it recycled?
Our offtake partner in mainland Europe produces district energy for the local community with different types of waste that would otherwise have been lost. In their combined heat and power plants, they produce both district heating and electricity at the same time, meaning that the fuel is used to its maximum recovery potential.
