WEEE Recycling

WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) needs to be handled properly to ensure ecotoxic metals or POP (persistent organic pollutants) are not released to the environment. WEEE can also contain batteries that could present a fire risk if not managed properly so it’s vital these are identified and managed safely.

Here at BKP, we have a bespoke site treatment permit supported by specialist equipment to treat a variety of waste streams including WEEE, where the waste is dismantled to maximise the recycling of the waste.

How does it work?

We will assess your WEEE and where possible and dismantle to remove hazardous components (Batteries, Lamps, Capacitors, Fluids) which will be recycled separately. Following removal, the remaining component fractions can be dismantled further to extract recoverable parts to improve recycling rates. Any components requiring specialist recycling are sent to approved AATF facilities such as cooling or display where the materials are recycled using BAT.

BKP has a fleet of vehicles designed to provide collection services alongside the treatment of your waste.
