Solvents Recovery
BKP take advantage of waste recovery and recycling facilities within the UK where organic solvents are provided as a fuel substitute to power cement kilns, maximising the recycling of these waste streams, including, but not limited to:
- Paints
- Inks
- Alcohols
- Esters
- Ketones
Our highly trained team of chemists use the waste-derived liquid fuel to create a viable fuel-substitute through blending to allow for the energy recovery of a variety of waste streams that would otherwise be incinerated, while providing an alternative and more sustainable fuel for cement kilns.
How is it recycled?
Cement kilns need fuel to heat up the materials to a specific temperature to remove any impurities and carry out certain chemical processes that are required to produce a uniform product. In the past fossil fuels have been used to provide energy for these processes, but we are able to replace this with a more sustainable alternative that is a secondary liquid fuel made purely from the waste from our customers.
